KAIWI COAST RUN & WALK - November 19, 2017

Event Details

RACE DAY:Sunday, November 18, 2018, 6:45 a.m.
The annual Kaiwi Coast Run & Walk is a community oriented 4-mile journey along the famous Kaiwi coast scenic highway, O‘ahu, Hawai‘i. It is the only pedestrian race sanctioned for this area. Thanks to over 40 years of community involvement, the land from Hanauma Bay to Makapu‘u is protected from development. The event begins with the sunrise over the Kaiwi Chanel, a Hawaiian oli (chant) and the blowing of the pu (conch shell horn).
Starts at Awawamalu (known as Sandy Beach), continues around the Kaiwi coastline, passes Halona and Hanauma Bay, goes over the pedestrian overpass at Kalanianaole Highway and Lunalilo Home Road and finishes at the Hui Nalu Canoe Club on the shores of Maunalua Bay. Failure to go over the pedestrian overpass will result in disqualification.

Our permit does not allow pets, bikes, skateboards, rollerblades or roller skates on the course. Strollers and wheelchairs are allowed

In addition to an event t-shirt (shirt size not guaranteed), up to 3,000 entrants receive a commemorative hand-blown glass fishing float. Light refreshments provided at the finish.
